Got a Question?
Reasons to Volunteer

1. Meet like-minded people: Our volunteers are a typically generous and kind crowd with a love of sport. You will meet lots of like-minded people who share the same passions and interests as you, be it sport, development work or travel and volunteering abroad, with whom you will be able to develop lasting friendships. We are renowned for the quality of our social and cultural experiences. Programmes see groups of adventurous people living, working and travelling together. This creates a close family-feeling amongst everyone involved, from your fellow travel mates to our in-country staff.

2. Diversity of Experience: Our trips offer an incredibly diverse experience. The volunteering itself will keep you on your toes, but there is so much more to do on your placement. We offer a great amount of optional excursions, but we also offer the freedom to go and travel independently around your placement as well as the guidance to help you do so. Our trips offer a wide range of opportunities from bungee jumping to wildlife experiences. Each destination offers its own unique opportunity. We will do our best to give you the flexibility in dates, durations and activities to tailor make the experience you desire. How about combining a sports and non-sports volunteer project? Or how about extending your trip once you’re in-country? These options are all available, as are many more.

3. Careers and Other Benefits: Volunteering is a great way to grow as an individual. It allows people to feel good and have fun whilst making a positive difference to others. It is a huge plus point on a C.V and is a personally satisfying and surprisingly educational experience

4. Responsible Travel and Community Integration: We are committed to having our programmes genuinely benefit the local communities economically and socially, whilst minimising any negative environmental impact they may have. We therefore ensure money goes directly into local services like food, accommodation, training and local staff. We also comfortably blend in the local setup and have all the necessary local staff, community buy-in and understanding of the context and sensitivities which enables a genuine and healthy relationship between all stakeholders involved.

5. Value for Money: We offer great value with no hidden costs. Quality pre-departure advice, excellent in-country support and professionally run activities are just some of the benefits you will receive with a United Through Sport trip.

6. Comfort: Our accommodation and facilities are all basic yet comfortable and with our staff on hand to help at all times, our volunteers can always relax at a United Through Sport base. You can rest assured that our accommodation is kept up to a high standard of cleanliness and comfort.
